The Canton Golden Bears won the last time they faced the Gouverneur Wildcats, and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went Canton's way against Gouverneur as Canton made off with a 61-36 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Canton has managed all season.
When it comes to explaining why Gouverneur lost, one person who can't be blamed is Raine Rumble. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. Rumble scored a full 58.3% of Gouverneur's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Donaldson, who scored nine points.
Canton pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Gouverneur, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Franklin Academy the next time they take the court. Gouverneur will host Franklin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th, while Canton will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th.
