The San Angelo Central Bobcats will head out on the road to square off against the Midland Legacy Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Angelo Central is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, San Angelo Central beat Midland 65-52. Given San Angelo Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Midland is ranked 584th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Midland Legacy suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Frenship 81-49. Midland Legacy has not had much luck with Frenship recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Midland Legacy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cutter Clark, who scored six points along with ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jordan Williams, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Midland Legacy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
San Angelo Central's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Midland Legacy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for San Angelo Central against Midland Legacy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 85-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Angelo Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
