Baseball Game Preview: Santee Falcons vs. West Adams Panthers

For the second straight game, Santee will face off against West Adams. The Falcons will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Panthers at 3:00 p.m.

Santee hadn't beaten West Adams on the road since April 8, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-1 victory. Considering the Falcons have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Fernando Silva was excellent, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Santee: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Valente Zuniga was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs.

Santee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 8.8.

The win made it two in a row for Santee and bumps their season record up to 7-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for West Adams, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-7.
