Hoosick Falls's Brad Burns rumbled for the longest rushing play in Section 2 C - North this season in his game against Stillwater last week. Burns ran for 58 yards on the play and finished with 159 on the day as his team defeated the Warriors.
Hoosick Falls suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 40-0 loss to Hoosick Falls. Ron Jones's team had been ranked 16th, but fell to 26 following the defeat.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Billy Pine threw for 159 and two touchdowns and Randy Tutunjian had 103 yards receiving. Burns helped Hoosick Falls' passing attack out by catching one ball for 51 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Pine and Burns Hoosick Falls has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Pine leads the league in passing with 516 yards, while Burns has rushed for 589 yards this season. Stillwater's Shawn McNeil leads the league in receiving yards with 281 on 21 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mechanicville takes on Corinth. The Red Raiders are currently in second, while the Tomahawks are in fourth.
The Panthers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Vince Barbor's team, 40-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
