After a string of five wins, White River Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a blow against the North Central Thunderbirds, falling 75-42. The Wolverines lost against the Thunderbirds in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 51-46 score last time.

North Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samantha Secrest out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Secrest a new career-high in rebounds. Shelby Seay was another key player, putting up 16 points along with seven assists and six boards.

White River Valley's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for North Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

White River Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-43 victory against Shoals on the 14th. As for North Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-36 win against Marshall on the 21st.
