It was a good run, but the Grand Oaks Grizzlies unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Conroe by a score of 38-36. Grand Oaks found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 9 to 2 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Grand Oaks lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bree Riley. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points. That was a full 44.4% of Grand Oaks' points, marking the 25th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Amariah Burns, who scored four points along with five blocks and two steals.
Conroe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Castille, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alisa Sneed, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Grand Oaks' loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-14. As for Conroe, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-14.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cleveland the next time they take the court. Conroe will head out to face Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Grand Oaks will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
