The Poudre Impalas will head out on the road to take on the Frederick Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Poudre is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 45-7 win over Greeley West.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poudre to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Carter, who rushed for 65 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 168 yards and one TD on only 15 passes. The dominant performance also gave Carter a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Poudre also got a significant boost from Praise Oluniyi, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 141 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Poudre was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Poudre didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Mason Harris, Charlie Swanson, and Tyler Trujillo picked up one apiece. Swanson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Frederick came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over the Raptors.
Frederick's win came from a few key players Poudre will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sonny Delpizzo, who rushed for 185 yards and one score while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. Preston Kissinger was another key player, throwing for 112 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Poudre's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Frederick, their record now sits at 5-2.
Poudre was dealt a bruising 49-6 loss at the hands of Frederick in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Impalas, Gavin Ishmael (who threw for 326 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 49 yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
