The Browne Bruins on the road again on Thursday and play against the San Luis Sidewinders at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Browne came up short against North and fell 62-52. Browne has struggled against North recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Browne saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jesus Solorio-Vasquez, who scored 11 points along with nine steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Desmyn Beavers-smith, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, San Luis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-54 to Cibola. While losing is never fun, San Luis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Cibola is ranked 113th).
Browne's record is now 8-12. San Luis' record is now 3-9.
Browne took their victory against San Luis in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 70-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Browne since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
