The Shelbyville Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against South Fork, falling 63-36. Shelbyville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Fork apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
Despite the defeat, Shelbyville saw an underclassman step up: Kenzie Jones scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. Jones scored a full 44.4% of Shelbyville's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dru Clark, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Shelbyville's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for South Fork, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelbyville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Decatur Eisenhower at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. As for South Fork, they will head out on the road to face off against Auburn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
