Basketball Recap: Berkeley Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lucy Beckham

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Berkeley had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Lucy Beckham Bengals 48-28. The Stags have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Berkeley can attribute much of their success to Madison Thomas, who went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points. What's more, Thomas also posted an 80% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alaina Carter, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and four steals.

The win (which was Berkeley's tenth in a row) raised their record to 21-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.1 points. As for Lucy Beckham, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Berkeley will host Goose Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goose Creek will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Berkeley surely won't give up without a fight. Lucy Beckham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
