In what's become a running theme this season, the Currituck County Knights gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by Manteo at home to the tune of 86-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for Currituck County.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Currituck County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcolm Cowell, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Zay Williams and Taylor Granitzki certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Williams scored 13 points along with two blocks, while Granitzki scored 15 points along with six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Williams posted two or more blocks.
Currituck County's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Manteo, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Currituck County will be playing at home against the Aces at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manteo, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pasquotank County is on a six-game streak of home losses, the Redskins a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
