Eastern was beaten by Timber Creek Regional 41-6 on Friday. Eastern has struggled against Timber Creek Regional recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Logan Dawson threw for 102 yards on 15 of 25 attempts. Vincent Rosa was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Izzy Hernandez rushed for 31 yards.
Timber Creek Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Victor Oquendo, who threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Reason-Dallas, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Eastern's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Rancocas Valley and 5-4 Kingsway (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.7% over those games). As for Timber Creek Regional, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Eastern will head out on the road to face off against Vineland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Vineland is ranked 139th, while Eastern is ranked 152nd). As for Timber Creek Regional, they will be playing at home against Robbinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Robbinsville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
