The Langley Saxons pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yorktown. Langley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Yorktown found their leader in underclassman Jake Coulam, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coulam has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Pilot, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Langley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Yorktown, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Langley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wakefield at 7:30 p.m. Wakefield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Langley in Virginia (Wakefield is ranked 47th, while Langley is ranked 140th). As for Yorktown, they will head out on the road to challenge Herndon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
