Even though the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the Plainfield Quakers still came out on top. Plainfield greeted the New Year with with a 76-60 victory over Tri-West Hendricks. That's another feather in the cap for Plainfield, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Collin Schmidt, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Arvanitis, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Tri-West Hendricks still got an impressive performance from Max Robertson, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Drew Miller was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Plainfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Tri-West Hendricks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainfield will face off against Northview at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-West Hendricks and Lebanon will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Lebanon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
