Boulder City is a perfect 6-0 against Canyon Springs since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will host the Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. Boulder City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Boulder City was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Pahrump Valley 5-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Boulder City saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colten Lewis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Steven Uszynski was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canyon Springs). They put the hurt on Mojave with a sharp 20-4 win on Thursday.
Canyon Springs got a massive performance out of Cruz Monroy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Monroy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Moreno, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Canyon Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Boulder City's victory bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Canyon Springs, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Boulder City has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Canyon Springs struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Boulder City's way against Canyon Springs when the teams last played back in March, as Boulder City made off with a 12-2 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
