The Mountain View Thunder have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Hood River Valley on Thursday as Mountain View made off with a 49-29 win. The victory was just what Mountain View needed coming off of a 51-29 defeat in their prior matchup.
Mountain View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Senderson, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Senderson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Thompson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Hood River Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Mountain View won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Heritage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Mountain View is ranked 48th). As for Hood River Valley, they will be playing at home against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
