The SA Roosevelt Rough Riders posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They really took it to Marshall for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-47 victory on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as SA Roosevelt also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead SA Roosevelt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Liserio, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals. Liserio is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Thomas, who scored 17 points.
Despite the loss, Marshall still got an impressive performance from Aric Goodman, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Jai Lopez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Even though they lost, Marshall were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their 14th loss (out of 20 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
SA Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-16 record this season. As for Marshall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
SA Roosevelt will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lee at 5:30 p.m. Lee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than SA Roosevelt in Texas (Lee is ranked 149th, while SA Roosevelt is ranked 535th). As for Marshall, they will head out on the road to face off against Brandeis at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Brandeis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
