Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Valley's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Pioneer Valley's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Morro Bay Pirates by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Pirates last Saturday, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

While Pioneer Valley might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Morro Bay scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Santiago Quezada paced Pioneer Valley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Quezada got some help from Daniel Aguilera and his 31 assists. Aguilera also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Anthony Lahr, racking up three apiece.

Pioneer Valley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12. As for Morro Bay, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Pioneer Valley will be taking part in a tournament against Selma at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Morro Bay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paso Robles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give Paso Robles their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
