Kody Bingham went supernova for Thatcher, rushing for 159 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Paxton Echols got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Thatcher's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Will Chidester was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sackshimself. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making four total tackles.
Meanwhile, Round Valley got themselves on the board against St. Johns on Friday, but St. Johns never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Redskins 36-0 at home. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Elks considering their three-point performance the game before.
Thatcher's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Round Valley, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Thatcher skirted past Round Valley 22-20 in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Round Valley's Ryker Marble, who rushed for 83 yards, and also threw for 77 yards and two touchdowns.
