The Centennial Stars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to Eastmoor Academy 59-54.
Eastmoor Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was James Nowell out in front who scored 18 points along with five steals. Gabriel Wooden was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Centennial bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Eastmoor Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Beechcroft at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Beechcroft focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday. As for Eastmoor Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastmoor Academy in Ohio (South is ranked 113th, while Eastmoor Academy is ranked 418th).
