The Wilmington Hurricane lost against the Franklin Wildcats back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Wilmington fell 62-50 to Franklin.
Kai Cook was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven steals and five rebounds for Franklin. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cook has scored at least a third of Franklin's points. Jason Sroufe was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Wilmington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Franklin, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmington will challenge Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goshen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wilmington in Ohio (Goshen is ranked 77th, while Wilmington is ranked 558th). As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to take on Valley View at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Valley View is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
