Softball Recap: Foothill Has No Trouble Against Burbank

21 must be Foothill's lucky number: they beat Burbank with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Mustangs blew past the Titans 21-2. The Mustangs have beaten the Titans the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Titans has come to flipping the script.

Chloe Vaca was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Alexis Collier was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Villalpando, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Foothill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Foothill's record is now 10-5. As for Burbank, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
