The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They strolled past Foundation Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 69-52. Heritage Christian Academy pushed the score to 61-29 by the end of the third, a deficit Foundation Christian Academy cut but never quite recovered from.
Heritage Christian Academy was led to victory by Layton Giltner and Jason Leek. Giltner dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds, while Leek scored 24 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Giltner has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Cash Bolinger was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Foundation Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mason Moore, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Moore scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Nix, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
Heritage Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Foundation Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Heritage Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Stewart County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian Academy is facing Stewart County at the right time seeing as Stewart County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Currey Ingram Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Foundation Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
