Olympia has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the South Lake Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Olympia posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They really took it to Poinciana for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-21 victory at home.
Arlinda Roundtree continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Clark, who scored ten points along with six steals and five assists.
In what's become a running theme this season, South Lake gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They blew past Windermere 50-24. With South Lake ahead 27-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
South Lake can attribute much of their success to Kaylin Cockefair, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, and Anyah Unelus, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Unelus continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Jazmine Monroe was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.
Olympia is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. South Lake's record now sits at 11-9.
Olympia couldn't quite finish off South Lake in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 43-40. Can Olympia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
