Hernando is 0-10 against Central since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Hernando Leopards are on the road again and plays the Central Bears at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hernando had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They slipped by the Sharks 41-40.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hernando to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josiah Wright, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Wright hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Leandre Wright, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Central gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Weeki Wachee on the road to the tune of 89-54. The victory was just what Central needed coming off of a 106-82 loss in their prior match.
Hernando's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
Hernando came up short against Central when the teams last played back in January, falling 58-49. Can Hernando avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
