San Fernando is 10-0 against Panorama since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The San Fernando Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Panorama Pythons at 4:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for San Fernando and six for Panorama.
Last Friday, San Fernando came up short against Reseda and fell 62-51. That's two games in a row now that San Fernando has lost by exactly 11 points.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Adrian Lomeli, who scored 18 points. That was a full 35.3% of San Fernando's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Christopher Bynum was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Panorama pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 90-61 loss at the hands of Sylmar. While losing is never fun, Panorama can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1336th, while Sylmar is ranked 626th).
San Fernando's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Panorama, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
San Fernando beat Panorama 67-59 in their previous meeting on January 4th. Will San Fernando repeat their success, or does Panorama have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
