Central is 7-2 against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Central Jaguars will welcome the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays at 1:30 p.m. Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.
While Central's victory against Baker wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over Baker on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Quincy Wilson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Brock Reeves was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Baker struck out 12 times.
Meanwhile, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy got the win against Pine Forest on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-6. The Stingrays might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.
B Nelson and David Chapellin made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Nelson pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Chapellin tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Nelson scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Chapellin scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Garin Grant, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Adrian Freitez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Lighthouse Private Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.86 hits in those games compared to only 4.5 in the others. Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Central has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Lighthouse Private Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
