You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Taylor's strategy against Madeira on Thursday. The Taylor Yellowjackets took down the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS 55-37. The Yellowjackets have beaten the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS has come to flipping the script.

Despite the loss, Madeira saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Beck posted seven points and three steals. Beck is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 12 games he's played. Ben Reed was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

Taylor's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Madeira, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Taylor will face off against Reading at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Taylor's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Reading has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Madeira, they will square off against Batavia at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
