It was a good run, but the Walthill Blujays unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Wynot 61-55. Walthill has struggled against Wynot recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Blujays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Parker, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Hugo Parker, who scored 16 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wynot to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Heine, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Schroeder, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Walthill's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2. As for Wynot, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Walthill will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Plainview at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Plainview is ranked 107th, while Walthill is ranked 92nd). Wynot will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Ponca at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Ponca will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Wynot surely won't give up without a fight.
