The Pioneer Valley Panthers will square off against the Atascadero Greyhounds at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atascadero took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Pioneer Valley, who comes in off a win.
Pioneer Valley's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Paso Robles hitters got past them. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 victory over the Bearcats on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 9th.

Aubrey Paz was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Natalia Rocha, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Pioneer Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Atascadero was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against San Luis Obispo, falling 8-2.
Melisilei Tonga made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. Samantha Bedell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Pioneer Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Atascadero, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.
Pioneer Valley took their win against Atascadero in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greyhounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
