Patagonia hasn't had much luck against Duncan recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lobos will challenge the Wildkats at 3:45 p.m.
Patagonia is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Thursday. They fell 6-2 to Baboquivari.
Kannon Shore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Duncan). They never let San Carlos get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Wildkats with their most commanding win of the season.
Ethan Hernandez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Duncan got a massive performance out of Isaac Harris, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Harris continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Taygan Jensen was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Duncan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Duncan and bumps their season record up to 9-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Patagonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Patagonia suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Duncan in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Lobos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
