KINGMAN, Kan. -
Haven (Kan.) grabbed the lead when it ran for a touchdown with under a minute left in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Kingman (Kan.) 34-27 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured two lead swaps.
Both teams scored six points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at seven entering the fourth.
Zach Andersen played well for the Eagles. The junior running back threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
The Wildcats got revenge for last year's 31-12 loss to Kingman with the victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Haven, which was coming off a 41-6 defeat at the hands of Garden Plain in its previous game.
In a playoff game next week Kingman (2-6) takes on Garden Plain, and Haven (4-4) will go up against Trinity also in a playoff game.
