Tierra Encantada had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 22-12 to New Mexico School for the Deaf. Tierra Encantada lost against New Mexico School for the Deaf in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 32-17 score last time.
New Mexico School for the Deaf was led to victory by Kimora Vollmar and Sirrah Wilding. Vollmar scored 6 points along with 6 steals, while Wilding scored 16 points along with 7 steals.
Tierra Encantada's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for New Mexico School for the Deaf, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Tierra Encantada will head out on the road to face off against Coronado at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Mexico School for the Deaf, they will be playing at home against Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
