Springwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Micah Thomas out in front who scored 18 points along with three steals. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Daniel Westbrook was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Haiden Harper, who scored 22 points. That was a full 44% of Lee-Scott Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Parker Wright, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Springwood's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Lee-Scott Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 19-3.
Springwood will be playing at home against Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Glenwood is ranked 102nd, while Springwood is ranked 80th). Lee-Scott Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Valiant Cross Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th.
