MIAA B recap September 24, 2013
St. Paul's added to the longest winning streak in MIAA B this week by beating Landon, 28-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Crusaders.
St. Mary's took down Annapolis Area Christian 39-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake Ellis threw for 231 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win.
Mark Michael was the best wideout in the league this week as John Carroll beat Avalon. Michael tallied 3 receptions for 23 yards.
Ellis put up the best numbers through the air as the Saints beat the Eagles.
Christian Scott was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 82 yards on 16 carries as the Patriots topped the Black Knights. Jerome Brown also contributed to the rushing game with 88 yards on the ground.
6-foot-4 quarterback Ellis of St. Mary's is the league leader in passing yards this season with 369. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jake Rosaschi. The John Carroll star has 3 catches for 95 yards.
An important game coming up in MIAA B this week will be when Frank Richard's team takes on Archbishop Curley. At the moment, the Saints are in sixth, while the Friars are in third.
John Carroll and Avalon played the most contested game in the league this week, with John Carroll eventually emerging with a 14-8 victory. Scott threw for 28 yards during the win.
