The Wheat Ridge Farmers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 66-9 loss at the hands of D'Evelyn. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wheat Ridge has scored all season.
Peyton Marvel was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds for D'Evelyn. Marvel is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Megan Schonberger, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Wheat Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for D'Evelyn, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheat Ridge will take on Golden at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Golden is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for D'Evelyn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conifer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Conifer comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
