Lincoln Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted nine points in addition to eight steals and five boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 23 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent McCullough, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Bayfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Shiprock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rehoboth Christian.
Bayfield now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Shiprock, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Bayfield came up short against Shiprock in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 65-56. Can Bayfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
