After a string of three wins, the LaCrosse Leopards's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 58-35 defeat at the hands of Ellsworth. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points LaCrosse has scored all season.
LaCrosse's loss came despite strong showings from Madison Morgan and Hannah Dellett. Morgan scored 12 points along with two steals, while Dellett scored six points along with eight rebounds.
LaCrosse's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Ellsworth, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaCrosse on the road again on Thursday and play against Victoria at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. As for Ellsworth, they will take on Hoisington on Friday. Hoisington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ellsworth in Kansas (Hoisington is ranked 38th, while Ellsworth is ranked 162nd).
