The Braden River Pirates suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 69-33 loss at the hands of Charlotte. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Braden River has scored all season.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Schade, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jacobi Murray, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Charlotte's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khrye Ellis led the charge by scoring 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ellis has scored all season. Chris Cornish was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Braden River's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Charlotte, they pushed their record up to 6-9 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Braden River will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Venice at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Venice is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Charlotte won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Fort Myers will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
