The Ellet Orangement will venture away from home to take on the Firestone Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ellet's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Buchtel as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The Orangement haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Logan Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ellet is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Wilson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Nate Freudeman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Dowling, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Ellet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buchtel only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, Firestone got the win against Garfield on Monday by a conclusive 24-0.
Like Ellet, Firestone also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Millin. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Millin was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jason Chestnut was a standout: he went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Nate Plas, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases.
Ellet's record now sits at 8-9. As for Firestone, their record is now 9-4.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ellet has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Firestone struggles in that department as they've averaged .549. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ellet suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Firestone when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Orangement avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
