The Alma Cardinals on the road again on Monday and play against the Cambridge Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Alma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
Alma put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season. They put the hurt on Loomis with a sharp 49-27 victory. The score was close at the half, but Alma pulled away in the second half with 32 points.
Alma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Siebels, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Scott, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Cambridge waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 36-29 win over Arapahoe.
Alma's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for Cambridge, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Alma beat Cambridge 46-36 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alma since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
