South San Francisco and El Camino are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The South San Francisco Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the El Camino Colts at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South San Francisco has seven straight victories, El Camino has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, South San Francisco never let their opponents score. They blew past Monta Vista 44-0 at home. The result was nothing new for South San Francisco, who have now won five games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Elijah Fields had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns. Fields hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for five straight games.
Meanwhile, El Camino fell victim to Santa Clara's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Bruins 42-0.
South San Francisco's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Monta Vista, Saratoga, and Gunn. As for El Camino, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
South San Francisco came up short against El Camino in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 21-14. Can South San Francisco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
