After a string of three wins, the Wood-Ridge Blue Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Lyndhurst, falling 58-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wood-Ridge has scored all season.
Lyndhurst's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Asya Akar, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Mayer, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Wood-Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lyndhurst, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wood-Ridge will take on Hasbrouck Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hasbrouck Heights and Wood-Ridge are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Lyndhurst, they will be playing at home against Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
