The Canyon View Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the Cedar Reds at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon View will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.
Canyon View came out on top against North Sanpete on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Hawks. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Zach Maine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trenton Ludlow, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Jarron Bradshaw was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Canyon View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cedar, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Snow Canyon 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Reds as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Brent Martin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cedar is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-10 otherwise.
At the plate, Cedar's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Payton Ludlow, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Canyon View pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cedar, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Canyon View couldn't quite finish off Cedar in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
