After flying high against the Benton Academy Raiders last Tuesday, the Tri-County Academy Rebels came back down to earth. Tri-County Academy fell 65-58 to Copiah Academy on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Tri-County Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Clearman, who scored 16 points along with 6 assists. Cooper Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Tri-County Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Copiah Academy, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 2-6 record.
Tri-County Academy will take on Carroll Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Carroll Academy is ranked 242nd, while Tri-County Academy is ranked 249th). As for Copiah Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bogue Chitto at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bogue Chitto has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
