This season hasn't been kind to the Opp Bobcats, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pleasant Home on Tuesday. Opp has struggled against Pleasant Home recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Samaria Womack and Kianna Barnes certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Womack dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds, while Barnes scored five points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Barnes pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of TaKyra Crittenden, who scored five points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Even though they lost, Opp were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Opp's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Pleasant Home, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.
Opp and Geneva will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Pleasant Home, they will head out on the road to face off against Kinston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
