The Collins Tigers came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Heidelberg with a sharp 69-44 win. Collins has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Collins' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Willingham led the charge by scoring 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan White, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Collins pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Heidelberg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Collins' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Richton at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Richton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 last Tuesday. Heidelberg on the road again on Monday and play against Hattiesburg at 11:30 a.m. on January 15th. Hattiesburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 518 points over their last eight contests.
