Even though Our Lady of the Lake Catholic has not done well against New Buffalo recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Our Lady of the Lake Catholic walked away with a 50-41 victory over New Buffalo. Given Our Lady of the Lake Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while New Buffalo is ranked 488th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Countryside Academy scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Eau Claire still came out on top. Eau Claire managed a 62-57 victory over Countryside Academy. The victory was just what Eau Claire needed coming off of a 73-52 loss in their prior matchup.
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Eau Claire, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic was dealt a bruising 74-35 defeat at the hands of Eau Claire in their previous matchup back in February. Can Our Lady of the Lake Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
