The Old Lyme Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the St. Bernard Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Monday, Old Lyme was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-38 to the Knights. Old Lyme has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, St. Bernard came up short against the Bulldogs on Saturday and fell 41-34.
Old Lyme dropped their record down to 6-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. As for St. Bernard, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Old Lyme came up short against the Saints in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 57-44. Can Old Lyme avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
