The Hubbertville Lions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their tough 56-33 defeat to Lynn might stick with them for a while. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Cale Tittle was his usual excellent self, rushing for 60 yards and five touchdowns, while also throwing for 234 yards and a touchdown on only 19 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Clark, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Hubbertville's loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-3 Pickens County and 7-3 South Lamar (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.7% over those games). As for Lynn, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Hubbertville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lynn will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shoals Christian at 7:00 p.m. Shoals Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Lynn is ranked 192nd).
